The Safe Way to Grow Your Money

Our Term Investments give you the best of both worlds – a competitive rate of return and the safety of government-guaranteed deposit insurance.1

We offer personal and business Members a wide range of fixed-rate Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), with terms from three months to five years to suit every investment timeline and need for flexibility.  With GICs, your principal is secure and your interest is guaranteed for the term.

All our Term Investments can be held by individuals in non-registered form or in RRSP, RRIF and TFSA plans.  Some types of Term Investments are eligible for RESPs.   Investors interested in the potential for greater returns can choose the Market Index GIC.

A GIC for Every Investing Priority

Short-Term Investments

If you need a temporary place to stash your cash, competitive rates are available on Short-Term Investments from 90 to 364 days.

Long-Term Investments

As a foundational part of your long-range investment plan, redeemable and non-redeemable Long-Term Investments can be booked for terms of one to five years.  Use a laddering strategy to expand your yield while still making funds available for redemption annually.

Premium Choice Investment

Cashable Terms are one-year investments that can be cashed at any time after 90 days without penalty if an unexpected need for cash arises.

Market Index GIC

Take advantage of gains in the stock market but be fully protected if share values drop.  The Market Index GIC pays a rate of return based on the performance of the major market indicies over a 3-year or 5-year period.  But, it’s still a Term Investment with a 100% principal guarantee, so there’s no downside risk.

Accelerator

The Accelerator is a Term Investment that offers a higher interest rate for each year of its five-year term, with the option of withdrawing 20% of your original principal on each anniversary date without an interest penalty.

1. Deposits are insured by the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario.  Insurance is limited to $100,000 per individual for unregistered investments and unlimited for registered plans.
