Member dividends and Credit Union League Dues One of the differences between credit unions and banks is the Member Dividend. This year, FirstOntario will be paying out a $5 dividend to eligible Members. This dividend represents a substantial return of funds to our Members. Dividends are being credited to the chequing or savings accounts of eligible Members this weekend and will be reflected in March statements. This dividend amount will be transferred to the Share Account of Members who are still accumulating required FirstOntario membership shares. FirstOntario is also pleased to once again pick up the $3.50 tab for each Member's annual credit union league dues. Annual dues enable shared access to automated tellers, point of sale debit card purchases, cheque clearing services and other electronic financial transactions in Canada.
