FirstOntario Student Bursaries

As a strong supporter of youth, we believe in your potential and encourage all youth to pursue that potential. Every summer, FirstOntario normally awards three $1,500 bursaries to young Members who will be entering their first year of post-secondary education. This year we've added three more bursaries for a total of six bursaries of $1,500! Young Members who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

•  Age 21 or under
•  Entering your first year of post-secondary education
•  Have been a Member of the credit union for a minimum of 1 year
•  Have a minimum scholastic achievement of a B average or higher (70%+) 
•  Demonstrate the co-operative philosophies of caring, co-operation and community

 

Application Submissions

We are no longer accepting submissions for the 2010 school year. The bursary application for the 2011 school year will be posted in early April 2011.

 

Co-Operative Young Leaders Summer Camp

Sure CYL has all the things that make summer camp fun like hiking, campfires, swimming, volleyball and hanging out. The CYL summer camp also offers so much more!  In fact, at the Co-operative Young Leaders summer camp we bet you'll have the best summer experience ever!

 

During your camp experience, you'll learn valuable skills like how to be a leader and a team player. You'll also learn how to co-operate with others, solve problems, and develop an increased sense of self-awareness.

 

This unique co-operative leadership training experience is specifically designed for young Members between the ages of 14 and 18. There are 3 camp levels beginning from Junior through to Intermediate and Senior.

FirstOntario covers the sponsorship fees for three young Members to attend the camp. One young Member is sponsored for each Junior, Intermediate and Senior camp level. This sponsorship includes meals, accommodations and materials. The selected applicants must cover the Participant Fee and arrange transportation to and from the camp.
